I read these inspirational words from President Hinckley this morning:
"We know not all that lies ahead of us. We live in a world of uncertainty. For some, there will be great accomplishment. For others, disappointment. For some, much of rejoicing and gladness, good health, and gracious living. For others, perhaps sickness and a measure of sorrow. We do not know.
Like the Polar Star in the heavens, regardless of what the future holds, there stands the Redeemer of the world, the Son of God, certain and sure as the anchor of our immortal lives. He is the rock of our salvation, our strength, our comfort, the very focus of our faith. In sunshine and in shadow we look to Him, and He is there to assure and smile upon us.
There is none to equal Him. There never has been. There never will. Thanks be to God for the gift of His Beloved Son, who gave His life that we might live and who is the chief, immovable cornerstone of our faith and His Church--The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints."

Marc and Julee Come to Visit
The Bernhiselovi came to visit for a few days. We took them to Cesky Krumlov and Ceska Budejovice for the weekend. The bear lives in the moat of the castle we visited. He's very cute.
Marc, Julee, and President Slovacek on their way to church.
Marc and Julee at Hluboka.
The afternoon they arrived, I took them on a walking tour of Prague. Here they are in Wenceslas Square, with the National Museum in the background. It was a beautiful day. I think they brought the Florida sunshine with them.
Marv, Julee, and I at Hluboka castle.
After church in Ceske Budejovice, our missionaries made a traditional dinner for us at their apartment. Elders Winder, Erickson, Smith, and Murray were excellent hosts, as they served homemade halusky and ovoce knedliky. Truly outstanding! I particularly loved Elder Erickson's Y apron, but the Bernhisels were partial to Elder Smith's Ute jacket. Go Cougars!
Another beautiful day in Cesky Krumlov.
It was sad to see them go, but we have work to do, and Marc has mountains to climb. Julee has stairs to master at the Y. We will meet again in Florida in a couple of years.
